The COUGAR Archon 2 Mesh RGB (Black) is a thoughtfully engineered mid‑tower case that strikes an appealing balance between performance, style, and practicality. Its full steel mesh front panel is the first thing that stands out — not just for aesthetics, but for functionality. That mesh surface lets in a huge amount of airflow, which is crucial for building a high-performance system. This is complemented by three pre-installed 120 mm ARGB fans in the front, delivering a strong intake breeze, while the ARGB lighting adds a modern, visually engaging touch. An RGB control button on the front lets you cycle through lighting modes, and there’s also support for syncing via a 5V ARGB header on the motherboard, giving you flexibility in how you manage your lighting.

Inside, the case supports a full range of motherboard sizes — from Mini-ITX to ATX — so it’s versatile enough for compact gaming rigs or more ambitious high-end builds. The space for GPUs goes up to about 315 mm, which accommodates most high-performance graphics cards, though giant triple-slot behemoths might be a tight squeeze. For CPU coolers, up to 170 mm of height clearance is available, and for the power supply, you can fit a unit around 160 mm, which should work with many standard PSUs — though if you plan to mount a large 360 mm radiator at the front, you’ll need to double-check PSU length to maintain compatibility.

Speaking of cooling expandability, Archon 2 has quite a bit to offer: besides the three front fans, you can mount up to two additional fans on the top (either 120 or 140 mm) plus a 120 mm exhaust fan at the rear, giving you a very flexible cooling setup. On the liquid-cooling side, the front supports up to a 360 mm radiator, while the top supports up to 240 mm, allowing you to build a strong water-cooled system if desired.

In terms of storage, the chassis is fairly flexible: there are two 3.5-inch drive bays as well as two dedicated 2.5-inch SSD mounts, plus one more 2.5-inch spot converted from a 3.5-inch bay. This offers a good balance between large-capacity HDDs and fast SSDs, so you can structure your storage based on speed and capacity needs.

Build quality is solid. The tempered-glass side panel lets you showcase your components, and the full-length PSU shroud helps hide messy cables — very handy for keeping things clean and making good use of that mesh front visually. That said, because it is mesh, dust intake is more likely, so you’ll need to plan for regular cleaning of filters to maintain performance and appearance over time.

The I/O panel on the case is practical: it includes 2 × USB 3.0 Type-A ports, 1 × USB 2.0, and a mic + audio jack, alongside the RGB button. While it doesn’t include a USB-C port, the connectivity it does provide is adequate and reliable for most builds.

On the downside, the GPU clearance of 315 mm may limit some of the larger video cards, so you’ll need to check the dimensions of your GPU carefully before building. Cable management, while reasonable, can be tighter given the compact mid‑tower layout — especially if you're using thick cables or managing many drives.
